Two of Park Vista’s very own automotive students Troy Botts, senior, and Chaz Spirazza, senior are celebrating the successes of earning a scholarship of $7500 to Universal Technical Institute (UTI). Both Troy Botts and Chaz Spirazza seniors have been chosen for this award.

“It means a lot to be that I have been chosen,” said Botts.

Botts has been the automotive program since freshmen year and works on projects with his free time as well.

“My current project is my 1970 Chevy nova that I race and have been building the past two years,” said Botts.

Spirazza not only received the scholarship, but also was chosen to represent the school for the student of the year in for achievement in the automotive academy. Spirazza has been in the automotive program for all 4 years and is always working on cars.

“I work on cars every single day mostly my truck, friends and families cars,” said Spriazza.

While both these students don’t particularly plan on using the scholarship they do have plans for their future.

Spriazza plans on going to University of Central Florida (UCF) for aerospace engineering and Botts plans on working at a shop called Mirandabuilt while attending Palm Beach State.

Both these Park Vista students have a passion for automotive whether it is for a living or for fun.
